Supported by the likes of Fred again.., Caribou and Floating Points, “I Did You Wrong” has been played to huge crowds around the world, most notably during Fred again..’s recent USB show in Lyon, and then again at his USB002 show in New York.
Harry Hayes is becoming known for his carefully constructed arrangements and rhythms, infusing pop-inspired melodies, ambient soundscapes and dynamic club elements, with influences spanning house, UKG, indie, jungle and French touch. “I Did You Wrong” fits just that mould - a club-ready anthem with a blissful melody, that seamlessly graces the world’s biggest dance floors.
“‘I Did You Wrong’ ebbs and flows quite dramatically throughout its arrangement, and it was in retrospect that I realised the variation in its structure actually allowed for the narrative to shine through” Harry comments. “The inception of this song was pure flow state, but it took a couple of versions for all of the stark differences between sections to really come alive and connect. I also hope that the starkness in the arrangement is jarring enough in the best possible way”.
